A software studio that would rather be trusted than oversold
Your offshore product team, run like an in-house one
Why Tooltar exists
Tooltar started as a set of free browser tools — calculators, image utilities, developer helpers — built to be genuinely fast and to work without accounts, uploads or tracking. That constraint turned out to be a good teacher: everything had to run on the user’s own device, which meant no sloppy shortcuts.
People started asking whether we could build the same way for them. So the studio became the main work, and the tools stayed — free, ad-supported and still maintained. They are the most honest portfolio piece we have: you can open any one of them right now and judge the engineering yourself, without a sales call.
Today we work with US companies as their product team — designing, building and maintaining web apps, mobile apps and AI automation. Our engineers are in India on a schedule shifted to overlap the US working day, which is what makes a remote team feel like a colleague instead of a supplier.

How we make decisions
These are the rules we fall back on when a project gets difficult — which is the only time principles actually matter.
Say the inconvenient thing early
If your timeline is unrealistic, a feature is not worth building, or an off-the-shelf tool would solve it for $40 a month, we say so during scoping. Losing a project we should not have taken is cheaper for both sides than delivering it badly.
Estimate in modules, not in one number
A single figure invites haggling over nothing. A breakdown lets you see what each part costs and cut the parts that are not worth it yet — which is a far better conversation.
Ship something real every two weeks
Progress you cannot click is not progress. Every sprint puts working software on a staging URL, which is also how we catch a misunderstood requirement in week two instead of month four.
Leave the codebase better than the brief required
Tests, documentation and sane structure are not upsells. They are what makes the second year of a product cheaper than the first, whoever is maintaining it by then.
What you can hold us to
Each of these goes into the contract, not just onto a website.
Real overlap with your workday
Our team works a shifted schedule so you get live conversation during your morning, not a 12-hour round trip on every question. Standups are also written down, so nothing depends on catching someone online.
You own everything from day one
Code lands in your Git organization, deployments run in your cloud accounts, and app stores stay under your company. IP assignment is in the contract, so changing vendors later never costs you the product.
Working software every two weeks
Every sprint ends with a deployed staging build and a demo. You never have to take progress on faith or wait until the end to discover it was built wrong.
The people you meet are the people who build it
No bait-and-switch between the pitch and the project. You are introduced to the actual engineers, and we do not swap them out mid-project without telling you.
NDA and security first
NDA signed before you share anything confidential. Least-privilege access, secrets kept out of source control, dependency audits on every release, and a documented offboarding when we finish.
An honest exit
Documentation, runbooks and a handover session are part of delivery, not an upsell. If your in-house team is ready to take over, we help you make that transition cleanly.
Services
One team across the whole product lifecycle.
Where we have spent our time
Domain knowledge shortens every conversation that follows.
SaaS & startups
MVPs, multi-tenant platforms and the unglamorous billing, onboarding and admin work that comes after product-market fit.
Healthcare
Patient portals, scheduling and clinical tooling built with HIPAA-aware access control, audit logging and data handling.
Fintech
Payments, lending workflows, reconciliation and reporting where correctness and an audit trail matter more than novelty.
E-commerce & retail
Headless storefronts, inventory and order systems, and integrations with the ERP and fulfilment tools you already run.
Logistics & field services
Dispatch, tracking and mobile apps for crews who work offline and need the data to sync correctly when they reconnect.
Education
Learning platforms, assessments and cohort tooling built to survive the traffic spike on the first day of term.
Real estate
Listing platforms, CRM integrations, document workflows and portals for agents, buyers and property managers.
Professional services
Internal tools that replace the spreadsheet a whole department secretly depends on, without disrupting how they work.
